All countries celebrate Mother’s Day but not on the same day. In the United States, it is always celebrated on the second Sunday in May.

Mother’s Day Traditions

There are also many different traditions around the world regarding how to celebrate Mother’s Day.

Here is a short list of Mother’s Day Traditions Around the World for you:

  • India: 10-Day Festival
  • Japan: The Right Flowers
  • Ethiopia: Sing-Along
  • United Kingdom: A Church Custom
  • France: Medals For Mom

In India, the Mother’s Day celebrations are called Durga Puja. In October, Hindus honor Durga, the goddess of mothers, during a 10-day festival.

While in Japan Mother’s Day is celebrated in March with carnations, as they symbolize the sweetness and endurance of motherhood in Japanese culture.

In Ethiopia on the other hand the Antrosht festival is the end of the rainy season and is dedicated to moms.

They celebrate Mother’s Day in the early fall by singing, dancing, and telling stories of family heroes.

People of the United Kingdom honor Mom on the fourth Sunday of Lent.

Back in the 1700s, the custom used to be those families that moved always returned to the original church during their celebration.

France on the other hand children is awarding moms with medals to express their gratitude and love.

Mother’s Day Bingo Patterns

In most places all over the world, it became a tradition to gift mom flowers, to bring her breakfast to bed, or to have a nice gift for her.

I took these traditions and turned them into Mother’s Day bingo pattern printables for you.

Instead of just choosing words, I decided to mix them up with pictures as well.

This way even smaller children can participate in our fun mother bingo game. I choose pancakes to symbolize breakfast in bed, a bracelet for jewelry mom might have gifted, cupcakes for a cake she might have gotten, etc.

Here are all the materials you will need to play with our mom bingo templates:

How do you play Mother’s Day Bingo

But you might wonder now, how do you play Mother’s Day bingo?

Let me tell you Mother’s Day bingo is not any different from any other bingo game. They have the same rules.

You are not familiar with the bingo game yet? Do not worry, let me explain the Bingo Rules to you:

  1. Print out your mom’s bingo templates.
  2. Take your scissors and cut out your free Mother’s Day bingo call-out cards.
  3. Give each player one free Mother’s Day bingo card.
  4. Now designate a caller.
  5. Afterward, place all call-out cards in a basket, bucket, or bag and mix them.
  6. Next, the caller draws a card and shows it to the players.
  7. Each player is marking the selected card on his Bingo Card Template with his marker.
  8. The player shouts “BINGO!” when they get a full line (vertical, horizontal, or diagonal).

Tips

  • Smaller children can play this game as well. Simply help them find the picture if they need help.
  • Do-a-dot Markers are perfect for this fun mother bingo game.
  • You do not like our pictures? Do not worry, I made a blank bingo template for you. Simply choose your own pictures or words for it.
  • I added a regular mom bingo template and a plain printable so you can play this game on any occasion. It can be a nice Mom-to-Be Bingo game during a baby shower or for a mom’s birthday.

How Do You Make Bingo Funny

After a while playing bingo can get old. Here are three fun ideas on how to make bingo interesting again:

  • Use poker chips instead of markers
  • Use food instead of markers, such as M&M’s
